Resonance: In these examples, resonant filters are deployed to create an effect that is modeled after piano resonance - as if the instrument is playing into the piano with the pedal depressed:

In this example from Coalescence, conducted by Steven Schick, the sound of the entire ensemble provokes the resonance that is heard clearly after the ensemble cuts off, and then the frequency of the resonance is changed to create a glissando effect which then cross-fades with a low synthesized sound:
