real-time digital signal processing examples
In my compositions for instruments and electronics, the instruments play into microphones, and the signal is then transformed using various digital signal processing (dsp) techniques in real time. The performer has complete interpretive freedom, and the resulting sound is a combination of the original unamplified instrument sound with the transformed sound. Below are links to some examples of various techniques deployed in my recent pieces, demonstrated in exceprts from excellent performances by members of the International Contemporary Ensemble in videos produced by Ross Karre.
