Program note:
Marnie Dilling was a colleague of mine at the University of California, San Diego. She was a remarkable woman, an excellent and generous teacher and colleague, and a distinguished ethnomusicologist who was one of the leading experts on Korean Folk Music. Ms. Dilling died of cancer on May 13, 1997. All of us who were privileged to know her remember her fondly, and miss her terribly.
